Great week at Photonics West 2020
Last week we were in the Bay area. Good mix of business, technical talks and, on top of everything, the honor of witnessing Pablo become the 2020 Conrady awardee!. Check these pictures.

CSEM and Neuchatel hosted the kick-off-meeting of the Phabulous project, where Limbak and a dream team of technological partners will take the manufacturing of free-form mini and micro optics to the next level.
You can go over the official press release below.
Limbak will attend three different conferences this June, with invited talks focused on different types of folded free-form optics. Two events are in the U.S., namely, OSA Optical Design and Fabrication, in Wahington D.C. (https://www.osa.org/en-us/meetings/osa_meetings/optical_design_and_fabrication/) and Light and Sound Interactive, in Rochester (https://lightandsoundinteractive.org/speakers/). The third one is in Munich, Digital Optical Technologies, in World of…
The VR/AR industrial event at Photonics West 2019 was a complete success. Limbak gave a talk which was focused on discussing the limits of VR optics. The slide show, and the speaker’s audio, can be found in this link.
Enjoy it.
Limbak and Franhofer will showcase the 25 ppd, 37 mm TTL VR headset developed within the LOMID project (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgUVE2p5_0I) at CES 2019. Show up at Fraunhofer booth (HALL C, BOOTH 43164) and test the demo with us.
The high-end headset demo developed within the scope of the LOMID project was shown last week at AWE Munich 2018 in the Fraunhoffer booth. This headset includes 4 OLED/CMOS WUXGA micro-displays developed by Fraunhofer, Microoled and Xfab and free-form optics patented/developed by Limbak, who also designed and assembled the prototype headset. Limbak and the rest of the partners in the LOMID H2020 project, along with the officers and reviewers, met in Dresden last week. This was the last project meeting and all had the opportunity to test the superb 92°-FOV / 24.8 ppd / 36 mm-TTL VR head mounted display developed within the project.
Limbak attended last SPIE conference held in Strasburg this year. Along with a invited talk on compact headsets based on micro-displays (H2020 funded project “LOMID”), our teammate Bharath was awarded with one of the third prices in the “Optical Design Challenge contest”. congrats to Bharath!!
